Citizens for Better Community (“CBC”) is pleased to announce its 21st Annual Spring Celebration fundraiser. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Marriott Hotel in Fremont. Our Spring Celebration events have been very popular over the years not only because we offer fun entertainment, wonderful food, and great company, but also because we have your strong support.
The program theme this year is “A Night in Xi’an: Honoring our Local Warriors.” We will be honoring Steve Cho as our Citizen of the Year, and Richard Li as the Volunteer of the Year. CBC would be proud and honored to have your continued support, participation and sponsorship this year.
Founded in 1992 by a group of Chinese Americans, CBC has been adhering to its mission to “initiate, sponsor, and promote community events that will affect the well-being of the Chinese Americans with an emphasis on Education, Health, Business, and Community Involvement.” CBC has been sharing the rich Chinese american culture and heritage with the local community through extensive involvement with diverse service groups in the Bay Area.
The Annual Spring Celebration is CBC’s largest fundraising event. CBC raises the majority of its funds at this event to support community programs such as:
ABODE Services Fremont Education Foundation
Academy of Chinese Performing Arts Fremont Libraries
Asian American Donor Program Fremont Symphony Orchestra
Asian Pacific Island Public Affairs Association Friends of Children with Special Needs
CBC Youth Internship Program Ohlone College Foundation
CBC Youth Leadership Program Rotary Clubs in District 5170
Chinese Language Schools Toastmasters Youth Leadership Program
