SBCC/CBC Angel Island Tour

Saturday, September 28th

Hello!

South Bay Chinese Club is planning a trip to visit Angel Island on Saturday, September 28th to learn about the history of the U.S. Immigration Station and the different cultures of early immigrants who passed through or were detained there.  We are inviting Citizens for Better Community to join us on this tour..  We have arranged for a special viewing of the pen that President Roosevelt used to sign the repeal of the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1943.  It is usually not on display, but will be brought out for our group to see.  I hope you will be able to join us to hear about the many early immigrant experiences and stories at Angel Island.

Dress in layers for changing weather.  Wear comfortable walking shoes.  Bring a bag lunch with water/drink. Bring cash to pay for Alameda-Oakland Ferry, the Shuttle Bus, and Guided Tour of U.S. Immigration Station. (See fees below.)  Meet at the Alameda-Oakland Ferry at 8:30 a.m.

Please RSVP  as soon as possible.  After Wednesday, September 11th,  we will open the trip to include  other friends and organizations.

For Reservation – Contact Amy Cho   amytcho@yahoo.com or (510) 797-6426  or Contact Gerry Low-Sabado RSaturday@aol.com  or (510) 378-0999 cell.
